Russells starts Manchester Motel One

Russells has been appointed to build the new Motel One in Manchester's Piccadilly. The 105,000 sq ft, 330-bedroom hotel stands 14 storeys high on London Road and seven storeys on Whitworth Street. Designed by Hodder & Partners, the developer is Livia Ltd.  It is the latest hotel development from Russells which counts Premier Inn, Park Inn by Radisson, Travelodge and Holiday Inn Express as clients.

Elcometer to double UK factory 

In the latest of a number of specialist projects for high tech manufacturing customers, Russells has been appointed to the design and build of new facility for Elcometer, the global testing and inspection equipment manufacturer. The £1.2m scheme in East Manchester will support the manufacturer's five-year growth strategy and further develops Russells expertise in the field.

ProVision moves to AKW Trafford site 

ProVision, the ITV-owned broadcast equipment rental business, has moved into new premises in Trafford Park. Owned by logistics company AKWorthington, the 16,000 sq ft unit was built and adapted for the occupier by Russells Construction. The site, which is directly opposite MediaCity, will house cameras, lighting, grip and sound rental equipment.

Pupils quiz Russells' Waitrose team

Children at Leftwich Primary School in Northwich enjoyed a lesson with a difference when Russells sent two intrepid experts into assembly. The school is near to Hayhurst Quay where Russells is building a new Waitrose store. The Russells pair were invited into speak to more than 100 youngsters about the regeneration project and life on a building site.
