The better you are, the better we can be. Training and development is a crucial consideration for any forward-thinking contractor, and is a key part of our success.
As a business we’re not for resting on our laurels, and neither are our staff. Improving skills and expertise, whether that is on site or in a classroom, it is vital for our employees to be at the top of their game.
We expect excellence from our team members and, in return, we are dedicated to their professional advancement. Junior staff work under highly experienced construction professionals both in the office and out on site, learning first-hand the knowledge and character traits needed to succeed in this business.
In addition, we support the members of our team with formal continuing professional development programmes throughout their career, as well as in-house training in the form of best-practice seminars and small group feedback sessions.
Training and development is overseen by the board directors, with programmes devised and managed by director John Millward to ensure the team’s skills match the requirements of our projects and clients.
Russells Construction also supports the training and development of administration staff and site operatives, including providing opportunities for apprenticeships with our sub contractors. Qualifications supported by the company and gained by our employees in the last few years include numerous BSC (Hons) in Construction Project Management and Quantity Surveying, MCips from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, CIPD in personnel Management, ACCA accountancy qualification, and various trade NVQs.
